asa Nicolasa is housed in an imposing building with a lot of personality located in the most popular area of San Sebastian. The same building from which José Juan Castillo, one of the best Basque chefs of his time, delighted his customers for years with his memorable gastronomic creations. Three years after chef Castillo retired in 2011, we opened the doors of Casa Nicolasa.
The new space wanted to continue to reflect the creativity of San Sebastian, but this time, instead of offering top-quality cuisine, we offered unforgettable accommodation. We renovated this space with great respect, trying to maintain its personality and charm.
Just a few metres from your room is one of the most spectacular urban beaches in Spain, and perhaps even in the world! Stroll along the beach, stroll through our seaside neighbourhoods, climb the nearby mountains, and enjoy the incomparable natural urban scenery that is Donostia! If you are a Basque gastronomy lover, you are in the ideal place!
In the Old Town of San Sebastian you’ll also find bars, restaurants, cafés and even Michelin-starred establishments. Top quality gastronomy, historical sites, cultural festivals and lots (lots!) of fun. Just by leaving your room.

Excellent accommodation in the city centre

Casa Nicolasa was an excellent choice of accommodation that we had no regrets about. I mistakenly booked the flat in the wrong month and quickly realised. I contacted the travel agent through whom I had booked the room and they refused to help me. On a hunch, I decided to contact the hotel and the team was more than willing to make the necessary changes immediately. In addition, I had to apply for a visa and wrote to them to get a confirmation with my name on it (as the booking was in my husband’s name). I was dealt with without delay. I also received a very sympathetic email a week before our arrival requesting arrival details. They kindly offered to store my luggage on arrival. The hotel is located in the Old Town and we found it very easy to get to all parts of the tourist area of San Sebastian. Casa Nicolasa offers excellent four star service and high quality, clean and safe accommodation.
If I return to San Sebastian, I will definitely stay at this hotel again!

I especially loved how light and airy this room was, with nice doors leading out onto a terrace where we could sit. High quality finishes that give the feel of a 4 star hotel. The staff were exceptionally helpful and there is a shared cafe area where you can make your own delicious Lazzava Cafe, which we did often. We parked very easily in the underground car park opposite (Okendo) and bought a discounted 3 day pass at Casa Nicolasa. I would definitely stay there again

Casa Nicolasa is ideally located in the old town of San Sebastian. The rooms are clean and functional. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. There is a coffee and tea station in the hotel. Our room was comfortable and very quiet. We stayed four nights and loved it.
